Priorities of these dollars are to create a more resilient public health system. By leveraging community resources, integrating mental health into existing structures, training health workers, and utilizing innovative approaches, it is possible to make a meaningful impact on mental health outcomes with very limited resources. As public health challenges grow in complexity, the demand for professionals skilled in data science and equipped with leadership abilities has surged. These are fundamental to addressing disparities and advancing healthequity. Yet, there is a noticeable gap between academic preparation and workforce requirements.
With localized data and healthequity improvement as a central goal, CDPH plans to increase community engagement and implement informed programs such as community health worker-led hypertension outreach.
