20th International Congress on Infectious Diseases
JANUARY 25, 2021
His research area mainly focuses on the theme of animal infectious diseases particularly zoonoses and antimicrobialresistant. Dr. Mohamed also has experience in Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Development, Laboratory Biosafety/ Biosecurity, One Health Initiative and AntimicrobialResistance (AMR).
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends reserving antibiotics as a treatment for severe cases only, as antibiotic use has no proven effect on controlling the spread of the disease and may contribute to antimicrobialresistance (15). Most people who recover from V. cholerae infection incur long-lasting immunity (16).
This raises the question of whether frequent hygiene practices, such as hand washing and sanitation gel, are harmful to the human microbiome. The belief that over-sanitation and hygiene practices may dull the bodys immune function by limiting exposure to pathogens is not new. This poses a significant threat to human health.
The strategy involves surveillance systems, data-sharing across sectors, joint risk assessments, and integrated interventions to address zoonotic diseases, antimicrobialresistance, food safety, and environmental health challenges all factors that are not adequately in practice in the region.
