Congress Passes Seven-Month Continuing Resolution to Avert Government Shutdown

Congress passed legislation last night to extend funding for the federal government through September 30, 2025, the end of the current fiscal year. This legislation, once signed by the President, averts a government shutdown that would have gone into effect just after midnight on Saturday, March 15, 2025. This long-term funding patch bill also known as a continuing resolution (CR) continues federal funding for most federal agencies at fiscal year 2024 (FY24) levels.
